About

Bo Yu was born and raised in Beijing, China before undertaking high school in Singapore. Bo emigrated to the United States to pursue university education and holds Bachelor in Science degree from University of California Berkeley and two Doctorate degrees, including a PhD, from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). A lifelong learner, Bo has received an MIT Sloan School of Management’s Executive Certificate program in Leadership and Management.

Bo is a sports enthusiast, following all the latest updates about his favorite teams in baseball, soccer and basketball. He loves cooking up a storm in the kitchen and experimenting with new recipes found on social media. Traveling is another big passion of his, especially discovering new beaches to lounge on. In his downtime, you will find him enjoying movies or solving puzzles to unwind.

Bo has experienced different career settings that allow him a unique perspective on different leadership needs and styles. He has experienced small and medium for-profit business settings, academic non-profit settings, and has a track record as an entrepreneur. Bo has observed many leaders and leadership styles, some successful and some unsuccessful, and understands that the fundamentals of effective leadership can be taught and learned.

Bo is a recognized scholar having published papers that cover both leadership and biomedical science. His latest leadership publication as the first author, titled “The Dark Side of Leadership: Finding Where You Belong”, elaborates on when to recognize the need for a career change and on the courage to make the change.
